A Quiet Mountain Stay Near Lansdowne

Sterling Holiday Resorts announced the launch of Sterling Valley of Pine, Lansdowne, a boutique mountain retreat located near Gumkhal and surrounded by dense pine forests. The property features pinewood interiors and open terraces that emphasise scenic views and a relaxed pace of stay. With this opening, Sterling expands its presence in Uttarakhand to nine resorts.

Positioned as a forest-focused mountain retreat, Sterling Valley of Pine, Lansdowne offers a low-key environment designed to support extended stays and outdoor engagement. The resort is suitable for leisure travel, small private events and corporate offsites, and complements Sterling’s broader Uttarakhand circuit that includes mountain destinations and spiritual centres. Its location makes it accessible for travellers from Delhi NCR and western Uttar Pradesh, particularly those seeking drive-to holiday options.

The rooms are designed to highlight valley views from multiple vantage points, with all accommodations featuring private balconies that look out over the surrounding pine-covered landscape. Select premium rooms also offer access to open terraces with views of the pool and the wider valley. The guest experience centres on dining and shared moments, supported by three dedicated venues: Lans Café, an all-day dining space with pinewood interiors and views of the valley and gardens; Sky Social, an open-air terrace suited for sunset gatherings, bonfire evenings and small events; and Sky Vista, a glass-enclosed meeting space overlooking the forested valley, intended for leadership offsites and private workshops.

Commenting on the launch, Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts, said, “Uttarakhand continues to be one of India’s most enduring year-round holiday regions, and Sterling has built deep familiarity with how travellers engage with the state across seasons. Valley of Pine, Lansdowne adds a calmer, more design-forward chapter to our mountain portfolio—created for guests who want meaningful time outdoors and destinations that feel restorative yet accessible. It also strengthens our presence across Mussoorie, Nainital, Dehradun, Rishikesh and Jim Corbett National Park—helping us curate connected, experience-led journeys across the region.”

Meghna Bhatnagar, from Dev Bhoomi, added, “We are thrilled to partner with Sterling for our flagship retreat in Lansdowne. Our vision was to create a retreat that brings a different guest from across India, while we offer them refined hospitality. Sterling is natural choice to bring this vision to life — their deep understanding of India’s leisure segment, regional presence, and ability to blend local character with national scale make them an ideal collaborator."

The resort also offers regional delicacies, a swimming pool, steam and sauna facilities, guided nature walks, bonfire evenings and pet-friendly vacations, making it a well-rounded, off-the-grid retreat.

Located near Gumkhal, Lansdowne is just 136 km from Rishikesh, 175 km from Dehradun, 200 km from Mussoorie, 219–252 km from Nainital, and 118 km from Jim Corbett National Park, making it viable to combine mountain, spiritual, urban and wildlife destinations into extended itineraries.
