Summer Travel Trends 2025: Thailand Tops, India’s Rise Continues

As Europeans prepare for their summer holidays, Agoda has revealed that Thailand continues to be the most searched Asian destination for the second year running. Close behind are Indonesia, Japan, and Malaysia, with Vietnam making its first appearance in the top five. Notably, interest in India is on the rise, with the UK and the Netherlands among the leading markets searching for stays in the country.

The ‘Europe to Asia Summer Travel Trends’ report is based on accommodation searches for July and August, the peak months for European summer travel. Malaysia experienced the largest growth, with search interest up by 20 per cent compared to last year. China saw a 14 per cent increase, aided by new visa waivers for several European countries, while Sri Lanka's interest grew by 13 per cent.

European travellers are predominantly searching from the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Greece (+23 per cent), Turkey (+21 per cent), and Poland (+17 per cent) are emerging as popular departure points for Asian travel.

Indian cities such as Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Goa are among the most searched by Europeans planning summer trips, with the UK leading as the primary source market, followed by the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Italy—underscoring India’s growing appeal.
