Thomas Cook India has expanded its foreign exchange network in Kerala by opening its first branch in Thodupuzha, a key town in Idukki District. This move aims to tap into the increasing demand for forex services in the region, complementing the company's existing 14 outlets across Kerala, including one at Cochin International Airport. The Thodupuzha branch was inaugurated by MP Dean Kuriakose, highlighting its strategic importance given the town’s proximity to major infrastructure and its rising potential as a commercial hub.

The new branch will cater to a diverse range of customers, including students, local residents, and travellers, with services such as overseas remittances, currency exchange, prepaid travel cards, and digital forex solutions. It is positioned to serve neighbouring areas like Pala, Muvattupuzha, Perumbavoor, and Thekkady, the latter known for wildlife tourism.

Deepesh Varma, Executive Vice President – Foreign Exchange, Thomas Cook (India) Limited, said, “Thodupuzha represents the next wave of growth for Forex services in India — smaller, high-potential towns with evolving foreign exchange and remittance needs. Our new branch is designed as a one-stop forex hub for a diverse clientele - including students, families, working professionals and business travellers. We’re excited to bring our full range of innovative solutions, including our Borderless Travel, Study Buddy Cards, and mobile-first forex services, to serve our customers in the region. This expansion reflects our commitment to ensuring access to our seamless, secure forex services – beyond metro cities, meeting the needs of a rapidly evolving India.”

This expansion reflects Thomas Cook’s commitment to increasing access to its services in emerging markets and high-growth towns across India, supporting both leisure and business travellers as well as remittance needs.
