Expands Capacity And Boosts Cargo Volumes

Turkish Airlines has released its traffic results for January 2026, reporting a 10 per cent increase in passenger capacity measured in available seat kilometers (ASK) compared to the same period in 2025. During the month, the airline carried a total of 7.6 million passengers and achieved an overall load factor of 84 per cent.

In January 2026, the international load factor stood at 83.7 per cent, while the domestic load factor reached 87.5 per cent. The number of international-to-international passengers rose by 10.8 per cent, increasing from 2.8 million in January 2025 to 3.1 million this year.

Available seat kilometers grew from 21.5 billion in January 2025 to 23.7 billion in January 2026, marking a 10 per cent year-on-year increase. Cargo and mail volumes also saw strong growth, rising 18.8 per cent compared to the previous year to reach 178.3 thousand tons.

As of the end of January 2026, Turkish Airlines’ fleet comprised 522 aircraft. The reported traffic figures are consolidated and include operations from both the main Turkish Airlines brand and AJet.
