In a bid to boost sustainable tourism and promote fresh ideas, the Directorate of Tourism, Uttar Pradesh has invited proposals from new tourism startups that demonstrate innovation, sustainability, and community-centric impact. The initiative aims to build a more inclusive and dynamic tourism ecosystem across the state.
As part of this forward-thinking move, the government is encouraging early-stage startups to present concepts that align with the state’s broader tourism goals; especially those that promote responsible travel, benefit local communities, and create memorable experiences for visitors.
All eligible proposals are being carefully evaluated by the State-Level Special Tourism Committee (SLSTC). The committee will assess the ideas based on their merit, long-term potential, and alignment with tourism development strategies. Selected startups will be eligible for a range of incentives and concessions designed to help them scale and implement their projects effectively.
This initiative reflects Uttar Pradesh’s growing focus on innovation-driven tourism and its commitment to supporting entrepreneurs who can bring unique solutions to the table. By leveraging technology, sustainability practices, and cultural insights, the state hopes to enhance visitor experiences while creating local employment and preserving heritage.
With iconic destinations like Varanasi, Ayodhya, Agra, and Lucknow attracting domestic and global attention, Uttar Pradesh is now keen to support the backbone of tourism innovation, startups that can shape the future of travel in the region.
Through this startup-friendly approach, the state aims to position itself as not only a major religious and heritage tourism hub but also as a nurturing ground for travel tech and sustainable tourism innovation.
