Visit California has unveiled its new Accessibility Hub, a comprehensive online resource designed to empower travellers with disabilities to explore the Golden State with greater ease and confidence. The initiative aims to support both visitors and industry professionals with tools, advice, and curated content to make California more inclusive and accessible for everyone.

To help bring the hub to life, Visit California partnered with BAFTA award-winning presenter and esteemed disability advocate Sophie Morgan on a new original series, Joy Diversion, which premiered on July 28 on Visit California’s YouTube channel. The three-part road trip series offers an inspiring, unscripted look at the state’s varied landscapes and the accessible adventures to discover along the way.

“Road trips in California are all about travelling without compromise. There really is something for everyone thanks to the state’s abundance of experiences and inclusive culture,” said Caroline Beteta, president and CEO of Visit California. “This Joy Diversion series – and Sophie’s storytelling –  brings to life everything that makes California the world’s ultimate playground.”

A long-time advocate for disability rights, Morgan recently relocated from the UK to Los Angeles and has become a powerful voice in US travel media. In Joy Diversion, she teams up with friends to explore different parts of California, from desert retreats and mountain lakes to coastal towns and wine regions, highlighting the state’s inclusive spirit and sense of liberation.

“Since moving to California, I’ve been astonished by how easy and joyful road tripping can be,” Morgan shared. “This series reflects that experience—it’s about celebrating movement, spontaneity, and the joy of the open road.”

The Accessibility Hub also features contributions from other industry experts and creators, including award-winning accessible travel writer Cory Lee, whose insights offer practical advice and first-hand tips for travellers seeking barrier-free experiences across California.

As the state prepares to host the FIFA World Cup in 2026 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028, Visit California is reaffirming its commitment to welcoming all visitors. The Accessibility Hub andJoy Diversionseries form part of the broaderPlayful Journeysplatform, reinforcing California’s reputation as a destination where freedom, inclusion, and adventure go hand in hand.
