Experiential Travel Brand Enters Next Growth Phase After Bootstrapped Scale-Up
WanderOn, an experiential travel brand focused on Gen Z and millennial travellers, has raised ₹54 crore in its Series A funding round led by DSG Consumer Partners and Client Associates Alternate Fund (CAAF). The round ranks among the largest institutional fundraises by a bootstrapped travel and experiences company in India.
Prior to the fundraise, WanderOn had scaled to a ₹100 crore-plus business without external capital, recording consistent year-on-year growth in the post-pandemic period. With the new investment, the company is set to enter its next phase of expansion.
The fresh capital will be deployed to expand WanderOn’s destination portfolio, strengthen high-demand segments such as adventure, sports-led and wellness travel, and invest in technology to enhance the end-to-end traveller journey, from discovery and planning to booking and on-ground experiences. The brand’s growth strategy aligns with evolving travel preferences, where experiences and personal enrichment increasingly take precedence over traditional sightseeing.
Commenting on the fundraise, Govind Gaur, Chief Executive Officer, WanderOn, said, “Travel today is about connection, people want trips where they can meet like-minded travellers and feel part of something meaningful. We have built WanderOn around that belief. This fundraise gives us the ability to move faster on destinations, product innovation and technology, while continuing to put the traveller experience at the centre of everything we do.”
He added that strengthening digital capabilities will allow the brand to reach travellers across India with a more seamless and intuitive experience. With outbound travel from India gaining momentum, WanderOn is also expanding its global portfolio to cater to the growing international aspirations of Indian travellers.
To date, WanderOn has served over one lakh travellers across more than forty domestic and international destinations, supported by a strong base of repeat customers. Founded by a group of engineers from NIT Kurukshetra, the company was built around the idea of moving beyond rigid group tours to create social, experience-led journeys. What began as weekend getaways has evolved into curated global itineraries, including European summer routes, Northern Lights expeditions, Formula 1 travel experiences and long-haul adventure trips.
