White Desert, known for its polar expeditions, has announced the launch of The Dr Jones Collection—an exclusive series of itineraries venturing outside the Antarctic. The debut journey in September 2025 offers a 12-day bespoke experience across remote regions of South America.
Guests will travel aboard a carefully restored ‘Dakota’ aircraft capable of landing on isolated airstrips, allowing access to some of the continent’s most scarcely explored destinations in style and comfort.
Highlights include exploring Amazonian cloud forests near the Gocta Waterfall in Peru, visiting ancient mummies in Chachapoyas, and camping at the newly established Dune Camp beside a tranquil oasis. The trip also encompasses stargazing in the Atacama Desert, hiking through volcanic canyons, and horse riding in Patagonia around the glaciers of Torres del Paine.
'Just as we have done in Antarctica, I wanted to create a journey that was as adventurous as it was luxurious — and in Dr Jones, we have found the perfect balance’, said White Desert Founder, Patrick Woodhead. ‘Even on the reconnaissance for the journey, we visited landscapes that I never knew existed. They were just so surreal!’
