India’s First Restaurant-Exclusive Amrut Single Malt Debuts at Zarf, Bengaluru

Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Centre, in collaboration with Amrut Distillery, has announced the launch of an exclusive single malt whisky created specifically for Zarf, the hotel’s Indian fine-dining restaurant.

The collaboration marks a milestone for Amrut Distillery, as it represents the brand’s fiftieth single malt and its first single malt whisky crafted exclusively for a restaurant. The whisky is made using Indian six-row barley and has been aged for over six years in a refill virgin American oak cask. It has been developed to align with Zarf’s culinary philosophy, which draws on flavours associated with regional Indian cuisines and presents them in a contemporary format.

Sanjay Gupta, Multi Property General Manager, Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Centre, said, “At Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield, our F&B destinations are designed to lead conversations. This collaboration with Amrut, a respected Indian family run brand reflects our strategic focus on innovation through one-of-a-kind partnerships where cuisine, craft, and culture come together to create experiences that are truly distinctive and destination-defining. Zarf continues to evolve as a space where Indian heritage is expressed in a modern, globally relevant way.”

The exclusive single malt was introduced alongside a specially curated menu at Zarf, designed to complement the whisky’s profile. Dishes served as part of the pairing included Mushroom ki Galouti with Lucknow potli spices and saffron warqi, Peshawari Namak Mandi lamb chops, lamb galouti kebab finished with saffron warqi, and Dal-e-Zarf, prepared with yellow moong lentils and desi ghee and slow-cooked in stoneware.

Rakshit N. Jagdale, Managing Director, Amrut Distillery, said, “Releasing our 50th single malt in collaboration with Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield and Zarf marks a truly meaningful milestone for us. I am especially pleased that for our first private label in India, we have partnered with an esteemed institution like Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield, for their bespoke restaurant, Zarf.”

The launch event at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield also included a fashion walk curated by Prasad Bidapa, featuring designs by Hemant Trevedi. The presentation drew inspiration from the colour palette and flow of the whisky, adding a visual element to the evening’s focus on craftsmanship and contemporary interpretation.
