Akasa Air has reached another major milestone by adding its 28th aircraft to its fleet—just 32 months since launching operations. The newest Boeing 737 MAX 8-200, bearing registration VT-YBE, completed a multi-leg delivery journey from Seattle, USA, to Bengaluru, India, via Iceland and Kuwait, arriving at Kempegowda International Airport on 1 May 2025.

This latest addition aligns with Akasa’s long-term strategy to build a reliable, efficient, and environmentally conscious air travel network. Since its inaugural flight in August 2022, the airline has consistently expanded, maintaining its focus on service excellence and operational performance.

Akasa Air made headlines by placing a record-breaking order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft—an unprecedented move in Indian aviation achieved within just 17 months of launch. With 28 aircraft currently operational and 198 more scheduled over the next seven years, Akasa is rapidly creating one of the youngest and most sustainable fleets worldwide.

The Boeing 737 MAX delivers 20 per cent better fuel efficiency and reduces noise pollution by 40 per cent supporting Akasa’s commitment to responsible aviation. This strategic fleet growth is part of the airline’s mission to strengthen domestic connectivity and prepare for future international operations.

As the airline expands its footprint, Akasa Air continues to redefine low-cost travel in India with reliability, innovation, and a strong focus on sustainability.
