Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna Hotel Ushers in a New Chapter of Heritage Luxury

Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna Hotel has unveiled a stunning transformation, officially marking Anantara’s debut in Austria and elevating the capital’s luxury hospitality scene. Originally designed by Baron Theophil Edvard von Hansen for the 1873 World’s Fair, the building blends Neo-Renaissance grandeur with modern comfort, now reimagined as Vienna’s first urban luxury resort.

Centrally located on the historic Ringstrasse, steps from the elegant Servitenviertel, the hotel’s renovation has breathed new life into its 152 rooms and suites. With 3.5-metre-high ceilings, triple-glazed windows, and elegant interiors in warm neutrals, many rooms feature balconies or panoramic views. The Presidential Suite, Vienna’s largest, spans up to 408 sqm and includes a grand piano, dining room, and wellness area.

The hotel’s culinary offerings are led by Edvard, a Michelin-starred fine dining venue helmed by chef Paul Gamauf, while Theo’s Lounge & Bar reinterprets Viennese café culture with inventive cocktails. Brasserie Sophie celebrates Austrian cuisine with a global flair.

An 800-sqm Anantara Spa brings together Eastern therapies and cutting-edge treatments, alongside a fitness centre and sauna. Guests can enjoy cooking classes, vineyard picnics, or heritage tours, making the hotel a gateway to Viennese culture with a global sensibility.  As night falls, Theo’s transforms into a vibrant destination bar serving smart cocktails made with local brandies, seasonal ingredients and repurposed produce.
