At the 32nd edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai, the city is once again making headlines with its dynamic growth in tourism and hospitality. As the official Destination Partner, Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) is using the platform to highlight its success in fostering global partnerships, driving innovation, and enhancing visitor experiences.
Held under the theme ‘Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism Through Enhanced Connectivity’, ATM 2025 is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from April 28 to May 1. Dubai’s presence includes over 125 local partners and major government bodies such as the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Dubai Culture, alongside hotels, tour operators, and attractions. A key initiative is DET’s Hosted Buyers Programme, bringing over 300 international travel trade professionals from 39 markets to experience the city firsthand.
Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), part of DET, said: “Consolidating the growth registered in back-to-back record years and solidifying Dubai’s ascent as a global tourism leader, the robust performance of the city’s tourism sector in the first quarter of 2025 is a testament to the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the commitment of all stakeholders across the tourism ecosystem. The sustained growth of the tourism sector, which will come into focus at ATM, continues to be vital not only through its direct economic impact, but as a pathway to investment, talent and businesses into the city. Building on this momentum, and strategically aligned with the long-term objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, we will work to achieve our goals through a multi-pronged approach and by enhancing global visibility with dynamic marketing campaigns, as well as by strengthening collaborations with key domestic stakeholders and international partners. As we look ahead, we remain committed to making Dubai the world’s best city to visit, live, and work in – a vision that will guide us through 2025 and beyond.”
Dubai’s strategic partnerships have expanded further this year, including tie-ups with Amadeus, Premier Inn Middle East, and Hyatt Hotels. The Dubai College of Tourism has also launched a new apprenticeship programme in collaboration with Marriott, supporting the integration of young Emiratis into the private sector.
Regionally, Western Europe led arrivals with 1.15 million visitors, followed by CIS & Eastern Europe and the GCC. Meanwhile, the hospitality sector reported strong results with an average daily rate of AED 647 and over 11 million occupied room nights.
Sustainability remains central to Dubai’s tourism vision. In Q1 2025, 153 hotels received the Dubai Sustainable Tourism (DST) Stamp — more than double last year’s number. A new marketing campaign, ‘Find Your Story’, featuring Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi, also launched, showcasing Dubai’s blend of modern wonders and desert charm.
With interactive experiences like the ‘Dubai, Always’ game and prizes including stays at Atlantis, The Palm, DET is ensuring that Dubai continues to inspire, entertain, and attract the world.
