Indian television star and media personality Hina Khan has been appointed as the Ambassador for Korea Tourism from India for the term May 2025 to April 2026, announced by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO).
The appointment ceremony took place on May 9, 2025 at HiKr Ground, KTO’s Seoul Centre. This collaboration aims to boost the popularity of South Korea as a travel destination among Indian tourists, especially with the growing fascination for Korean culture across India.
As part of her role, Hina Khan recently embarked on a week-long familiarisation (FAM) tour, visiting key regions including Seoul, Gangwon-do, and Incheon. Her journey highlighted Korea’s cultural depth, traditional heritage, scenic beauty, and the vibrant energy of the Korean Wave (Hallyu) — from K-Dramas and K-Pop to vegetarian Korean cuisine.
Through her influence and social media presence, Khan is set to showcase Korea’s charm to a wider Indian audience. She visited iconic K-Drama shooting locations, trendy K-Pop hubs, and explored local crafts and cuisine, offering Indian travellers a glimpse of Korea beyond the usual.
