Indian Railways from Jammu to Delhi

In response to recent security threats in Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Railways has introduced special train services from Jammu and Udhampur to Delhi. This move aims to ensure the smooth and safe transit of passengers amid ongoing tensions.

A special train (No. 04612) has been scheduled to depart from Jammu at 10:45 AM. It includes 12 unreserved and 12 reserved coaches, accommodating a wide range of travellers. Additionally, a 20-coach Vande Bharat Express will depart from Udhampur at 12:45 PM, connecting major northern towns including Jammu and Pathankot en route to the national capital. A third service—featuring a 22-coach fully reserved LHB train—will leave Jammu at 7:00 PM on Friday.

These special train services are part of Indian Railways’ broader plan to respond swiftly to travel demand and security alerts following drone activity and recent attacks in the region.

Meanwhile, railway stations across the country are tightening safety protocols. At locations such as Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, the Government Railway Police (GRP), local police, and dog squads have ramped up inspections. Coaches, platforms, and parcel offices are being thoroughly checked to prevent any security breaches.

The railway authorities are urging passengers to remain alert, comply with safety instructions, and stay updated via official announcements. These proactive steps underline Indian Railways’ commitment to passenger safety during periods of heightened vigilance and uncertainty.
