A recent survey (Allianz Partners Travel Index 2025) reveals that around a quarter of Indians planning international travel in 2025 are looking to visit the UK and Europe. Nearly half have saved over Rs 126,000 specifically for their holiday, demonstrating strong financial preparedness. An impressive 85 per cent of these travellers intend to purchase travel insurance, underscoring the importance they place on security and peace of mind.
Conducted by Kantar Consumer Link on behalf of Allianz Partners, the survey of over 1,000 Indian adults highlights that travel aspirations are increasingly driven by unique experiences. Most travellers are concerned about personal safety and unpredictable weather, with higher-income individuals showing greater awareness of potential flight disruptions.
Speaking on the survey, Charu Kaushal, Managing Director at Allianz Partners India, said, “The Allianz Travel Index 2025 explores the evolving travel landscape, emphasising Indian travellers' growing appetite for unique, experience-led journeys. As travel becomes more personalised, Allianz Partners India is committed to redefining protection and security, enabling safer journeys and inspiring the confidence to explore freely”.
The emphasis on entertainment and luggage protection remains high, and the preferred methods of purchasing travel insurance lean towards online platforms. Overall, the findings reflect a growing trend among Indian travellers to seek personalised journeys supported by comprehensive insurance coverage to explore the world confidently.
