Following a temporary shutdown caused by cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan, the high-altitude tourist destinations in Bhaderwah, Jammu & Kashmir, have now reopened for visitors. The closure was a precautionary measure implemented by the local administration in response to heightened security concerns along the Line of Control (LoC).

Bhaderwah, known for its breathtaking landscapes and cool climate, includes destinations such as Padri Pass, Chattergala, and Bhal Padri, located at elevations between 8,000 and 12,000 feet. These spots have been made accessible again following thorough security assessments and the improvement of the overall situation in the region.

However, while general tourism has resumed, sports and adventure activities remain suspended until further notice. Authorities have made it clear that the reopening is focused strictly on sightseeing and leisure tourism, with no permissions currently granted for organised trekking, paragliding, or other such activities.

The Bhaderwah Development Authority, in coordination with local police and administration, has put safety measures in place to ensure that tourists can visit these areas without concerns. Officials continue to monitor the situation closely and will update guidelines as needed.

Travellers are being encouraged to follow official advisories, stay within designated zones, and maintain respect for the sensitive nature of the region.

The reopening is expected to provide a boost to the local economy and hospitality sector, though with a cautious approach in light ofBhaderwah Bhaderwah  recent events.
