Vietjet has welcomed a brand-new Airbus A321neo ACF aircraft, registration VN-A516, as it continues to grow its fleet of 117 modern aircraft. Alongside this, the airline has introduced new direct flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Nagoya and Fukuoka in Japan, offering travellers more convenient options. These steps mark a key milestone in Vietjet’s 2025 expansion plans, aimed at enhancing the travel experience and strengthening cultural and economic ties across the Asia-Pacific region.

The new aircraft which arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on April 25, 2025, will be in operation during Vietnam’s second-largest holiday period—celebrating Reunification Day and Labour Day. The aircraft features a modern cabin layout with improved seat spacing and comfort, and boasts a 20 per cent reduction in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, along with a 50 per cent decrease in noise pollution compared to older models.

This is the third new aircraft Vietjet has added to its fleet in 2025. The airline plans to continue acquiring new aircraft from Airbus and Boeing throughout the year, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining a dynamic and efficient fleet.

At the same time, Vietjet has expanded its international network with the launch of two new direct services from Ho Chi Minh City to Nagoya and Fukuoka, now operating four and three weekly round-trips respectively. The inaugural flights were greeted with water salutes at both Japanese airports.

Building on this success, Vietjet has also introduced four new routes linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Beijing and Guangzhou in China. These developments are part of its broader 2025 expansion plan, which includes new routes to India launched last month and the upcoming service connecting Phu Quoc and Singapore in May.
