From music to Michelin, discover why November is Abu Dhabi’s favourite season

Bathed in year-round sunshine, Abu Dhabi is a fusion of tradition and modernity. As the capital of the United Arab Emirates, it’s a city where contemporary architecture stands beside desert dunes, and serene beaches align with world-class museums. Visit the majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, wander through Saadiyat Island’s growing Cultural District, or kayak through the mangroves that fringe the city’s coastline.

From Michelin-starred dining and Formula 1 thrills on Yas Island to immersive art experiences and coastal retreats, Abu Dhabi is, perhaps, for every kind of traveller, whether culture seekers, adventure lovers, or families alike. The best months to visit are from November to March, when cooler weather sets the stage for outdoor concerts, festivals, and desert excursions.

If you’re inclined towards ancient heritage in Al Ain, relaxing at a luxury resort, or joining the city’s vibrant events calendar, Abu Dhabi is full of discovery.

From November 1 to 30, Abu Dhabi in the UAE hosts a series of events and activities that encompass culture, gastronomy, and entertainment. This period marks the arrival of the season characterised by cooler desert air, softer golden light, and the resurgence of outdoor activities, festivals, and artistic expressions in the city.

A month that celebrates heritage and craftsmanship

The month begins with a celebration of Emirati heritage at the 11th Traditional Handicrafts Festival at Souq Al Qattara in Al Ain, running from November 1 to10. The festival brings to life traditional arts such as Al Sadu weaving, Talli embroidery and palm-frond weaving. It’s a journey through craft and community, offering visitors a deeper connection to the UAE’s rich legacy, best enjoyed under the clear skies and mild November sun.

Live concerts and music nights

Music lovers are in for a treat this November. Global pop icon Enrique Iglesias took the stage at Etihad Arena on November 1, followed by Travis Scott’s high-energy performance on November 15. Together, they set the rhythm for Abu Dhabi’s growing music scene, transforming Yas Island into a hub of global entertainment.

Food takes centre stage

As the cooler breeze sweeps through the city, Abu Dhabi’s culinary experience comes alive in open-air settings. The Open Fire Food Festival on November 7 to 8 at Etihad Park, Yas Island, celebrated the art of live-fire cooking, smoky flavours, outdoor dining, and a relaxed social vibe.
Later in the month, from November 14 to 16, Taste of Abu Dhabi transforms Gateway Park South into a festive garden of flavours, music, and community, perfect for those who love to sample global cuisine in an alfresco setting.

Sport, sunshine and sea views

Golf fans would enjoy the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, held from November 6 to 9 at Yas Links Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s most scenic coastal courses. The event blends world-class competition with leisurely seaside hospitality. Meanwhile, on November 16, the Hudayriyat Women’s Cycling Series invites participants to ride along the scenic waterfront, celebrating inclusivity and fitness under the capital’s clear skies.

Light, art and creativity take over the city

From November 15 to January 4, Abu Dhabi becomes a canvas of light and imagination during Manar Abu Dhabi, a large-scale public art exhibition spanning Corniche, Jubail Island, Al Ain and Al Dhafra. Over 35 artists will illuminate the city with light sculptures and interactive installations.
Later, Abu Dhabi Art Fair at Manarat Al Saadiyat (from November 19 to 23) showcases works from over 140 galleries representing 35 countries, further cementing the city’s growing global art influence.

The MICHELIN Guide Food Festival

Culinary enthusiasts can end the month on a high note with the MICHELIN Guide Food Festival Abu Dhabi 2025, taking place from November 21 to 23 at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental. Featuring 20 MICHELIN-recognised restaurants, the festival brings together chefs, masterclasses and an artisanal market, a fitting finale to a month defined by creativity and connection.

Why November is the best time to visit Abu Dhabi

With temperatures averaging 24 °C and the sea still warm enough for a swim, November is when Abu Dhabi truly shines. The city’s palm-lined promenades, beach clubs and mangrove tours are at their most inviting. Travellers can unwind at Saadiyat’s white-sand beaches, kayak through Jubail’s serene mangroves, or take in the grandeur of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque under golden evening light, all while enjoying one of the region’s richest cultural calendars.
