Moscow

From July 5 to 13, Manezhnaya Square, one of the main venues of the 'Summer in Moscow' programme, will come alive with the vibrant colours of Bharat Utsav, the Festival of India. Residents and visitors alike will have the chance to immerse themselves in Indian culture and traditions.

Organised by the Moscow City Government in partnership with the Embassy of India, the event promises an exciting celebration of India’s rich heritage. The venue, decorated with hundreds of exotic plants, will feature colourful stalls offering traditional dishes and souvenirs.

Throughout the festival, there will be a programme packed with hundreds of events including lively performances, dance workshops, Hindi language classes, and much more. Every morning and evening, Russian and Indian ensembles will take to the stage to entertain audiences.

International artists will also host creative workshops open to all. Visitors can try playing the tabla, learn the steps of Kathak and Kuchipudi dance, or pick up the basics of conversational Hindi. Additionally, an exhibition showcasing artworks from across India will be on display at Manezhnaya Square.

Cultural Connection

Moscow’s partnership with India spans trade, creative industries, and tourism. India is the second most popular non-CIS country for tourists visiting Moscow. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, around 18,000 Indian travellers visited the city, a one-and-a-half times increase on the same period last year.
