The newly introduced Amrit Bharat Express is set to transform travel between Gaya and New Delhi, delivering a direct and swifter rail option for commuters and visitors alike. The service has been introduced to meet rising demand for efficient and convenient travel between these two key cities. Passengers will benefit from a more comfortable and quicker journey, with a notable reduction in travel time compared with alternative routes. The launch aims not only to ease the travel burden on regular commuters but also to provide a smoother, hassle-free experience for tourists exploring these culturally rich destinations. The introduction of this service aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to improve rail connectivity across India, ensuring passengers have more direct, reliable, and efficient transport options.
In a significant move to enhance rail travel between key cities, the government has approved the launch of the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and New Delhi. This service, identified by train numbers 13697 and 13698, will offer a direct and convenient route between these two important cities. The announcement forms part of the government’s ongoing drive to improve transport options for passengers and boost connectivity across regions.
The Gaya–New Delhi train service responds to long-standing demands from travellers seeking a quicker and more efficient way to journey between the two cities. Previously, travellers had to rely on indirect routes, resulting in longer journey times. With the Amrit Bharat Express, passengers will now have a direct, faster, and more comfortable option for their journeys.
Alongside the approval for the Gaya–New Delhi service, several other proposals have also been addressed. One such request is the upgrade of the Danapur–Udhna Express from a weekly service to a daily operation. This move will make the route more accessible on any day of the week, meeting the growing demand for reliable and frequent travel between Danapur and Udhna.
Additionally, a new train service linking Gaya to Surat has been approved, further expanding travel options for passengers. The Gaya–Surat train will cater to those travelling for business, education, and tourism, offering a more direct and convenient connection between these two cities. The new service is expected to be particularly beneficial for people moving between Bihar and Gujarat, two regions with growing economic and cultural exchanges.
As the festival season approaches, East Central Railway has taken proactive measures to accommodate the expected surge in passengers. To address the increased demand, the railway has announced the operation of 10 pairs of special festival trains. These trains will run from major stations, including New Delhi, Anand Vihar, and Delhi, to various destinations across the country. The introduction of these special trains will help ensure that passengers can travel comfortably during the peak period, avoiding overcrowded services and providing more options for reaching their destinations.
In addition to the festival specials, the Anand Vihar–Patna special train service has also been extended to accommodate more passengers. This extended service will run during the festive period, offering easier access to one of the region’s busiest routes.
Another major development is the introduction of the New Delhi–Darbhanga–New Delhi train, which will begin daily operations from 29 September. This service will provide daily connectivity between New Delhi and Darbhanga, improving convenience for travellers between these two cities. The service will operate from New Delhi until 30 November, with return journeys from Darbhanga available from 30 September to 1 December.
Alongside the Darbhanga service, a new Delhi–Bhagalpur–Delhi train will run every Tuesday from 23 September to 25 November. This service will pass through important stations such as Kiul, Nawada, Gaya, Sasaram, DDU, and Prayagraj, providing a convenient route for passengers heading to Bhagalpur and surrounding areas. The introduction of this train is expected to ease congestion on other routes and offer a much-needed travel option for those travelling to and from Bhagalpur.
Additionally, a daily service between Anand Vihar and Sitamarhi will begin operations from 29 September to 30 November. This service will cater to passengers travelling between these locations, offering a consistent and reliable travel option throughout the festival season.
The Amrit Bharat Express connects Gaya and New Delhi, delivering a faster and more convenient travel route for both commuters and tourists, reducing travel time and improving connectivity between the two cities.
The introduction and extension of these various train services reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing rail travel and providing passengers with more convenient options, particularly during high-demand periods such as the forthcoming festivals. These changes are expected to reduce travel times, alleviate overcrowding, and improve overall passenger comfort, making rail travel a more efficient and attractive option for many. With these new routes and service upgrades, India’s railway network continues to play a crucial role in connecting people across the country and facilitating smoother travel experiences.
