Indian Railways’ Bharat Yatra trains are specially curated tourist routes designed to showcase India’s diverse heritage. In a bid to promote tourism and celebrate Indian culture, Indian Railways will launch the ‘Bharat Gaurav’ passenger train from Pathankot Cantonment on July 28. The train will traverse key religious destinations in Southern India, including Tirupati, Rameswaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari, and Malakpur during its 13-day voyage. These specially organised trains aim to boost domestic tourism whilst highlighting India’s historical and spiritual richness.

According to IRCTC, this journey, titled ‘Dakshin Bharat Yatra’, is an excellent opportunity for residents of Northern India to immerse themselves in the spiritual and cultural essence of South India. The itinerary encompasses visits to prominent pilgrimage sites, cultural excursions, and explorations of historic landmarks.

The train departs from Pathankot Cantonment Railway Station on July 28 and will return on August 9, covering 12 nights and 13 days.

A railway spokesperson noted that the train features 640 seats in economy sleeper class, priced at Rs 30,135 per person. Additionally, there are 70 seats in 3 AC standard class, with fares of Rs 43,370 per person, and 50 seats in 2 AC comfort class, priced at Rs 57,470 each. The fare includes tea, breakfast, lunch, dinner, accommodation, and transportation.
