IndiGo is stepping up its international game with a significant expansion of its codeshare agreement with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. From August 2025, travellers will have access to 30 cities across Europe and the UK on KLM-operated flights, all bookable directly through IndiGo’s platforms.
This expanded partnership will enable IndiGo customers to travel to destinations such as Paris, Berlin, Geneva, Madrid, Brussels, London, Oslo, Helsinki, Prague, and Stockholm via Amsterdam. The codeshare offers a streamlined booking experience, integrated itineraries, and through check-in of baggage — making long-haul travel easier and more connected.
The move aligns with IndiGo’s growing global focus. The airline recently began nonstop services between Mumbai and Amsterdam, using its long-range Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which it currently operates under a damp lease arrangement with Norse Atlantic Airlines.
Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, said, “At IndiGo, we are committed to offering seamless global connectivity to our customers as part of our ambitious internationalisation strategy. We are delighted to deepen our partnership with KLM, providing our customers with greater convenience when traveling across Europe and the UK through Schiphol airport, one of the biggest European hubs. We are confident that our customers will value and benefit from the seamless connectivity offered through the vast combined networks of IndiGo and KLM. This collaboration aligns with our vision of giving wings to the nation and fostering more opportunities for boosting trade and tourism between India, Europe and the rest of the world.”
This announcement builds on a broader collaboration signed at the 81st IATA AGM in June 2025, where IndiGo, along with Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM, and Virgin Atlantic, committed to a partnership aimed at improving connectivity across North America, Europe, the UK, and India.
Since 2022, KLM and IndiGo have worked together under a codeshare that gave KLM access to 24 destinations within India. With this latest development, the relationship becomes a two-way street, expanding IndiGo’s global footprint and offering more options to Indian travellers heading west.
Marjan Rintel, CEO of KLM, said, “We are pleased to take the next step in our collaboration with IndiGo by expanding our codeshare agreement. This allows travellers easier connections between India and Europe, including the UK, via our hub in Amsterdam, and gives IndiGo customers access to the extensive network KLM has to offer. This expansion further strengthens the ties between our regions and connects people and opportunities across continents offering them more choice and flexibility.”
Bookings for the extended codeshare routes open on August 1, 2025, for travel starting August 11, 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
