Rajasthan continues to shine on the global tourism map, drawing record numbers of international travellers in 2024, with the United States and the United Kingdom leading foreign tourist arrivals. Known for its royal heritage, desert landscapes, and vibrant festivals, the state has become a go-to destination for visitors from across Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America.

According to official tourism data, out of 96.57 lakh international tourist arrivals in India in 2024, Rajasthan accounted for 20.72 lakh, marking a significant 21.92 per cent year-on-year growth compared to 2023. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the state welcomed 7.88 lakh foreign tourists, reinforcing its global popularity.

Dalip Singh Rathore, Joint Director, Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, said that the rise in international arrivals is the result of consistent participation in key global travel marts and fairs. He mentioned Rajasthan’s presence at events like IFTM Top Resa (Paris, France), JATA Tourism Expo (Japan), World Travel Market (London, UK), FITUR (Spain), and ITB Berlin (Germany). These platforms play an important role in boosting inbound tourism for any country.

The Rajasthan Tourism delegation includes not only government officials but also stakeholders from hotels, travel agencies, and tour operators, helping to build international connections that foster both tourism and employment.

European countries showing consistent interest include France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. Beyond Europe, strong numbers are also seen from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Brazil, Canada, and several Asian nations including Japan, South Korea, and Israel.

As Rajasthan continues to build on its international appeal, the tourism department remains focused on sustained promotion and strategic engagement to further elevate the state's status as one of India’s top global destinations.
