UP Tourism in Paris

Uttar Pradesh Tourism made a remarkable impact at IFTM Top Resa 2025, the International & French Travel Market held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, by showcasing the state's rich cultural heritage, spiritual depth, and unique tourism experiences. The Uttar Pradesh pavilion stood out as one of the most vibrant attractions at the prestigious global travel event.

The pavilion was formally inaugurated by Naveen Kumar, Counsellor (Economic & Commercial Wing) and Head of Chancery at the Embassy of India in Paris. It welcomed international dignitaries, travel trade professionals, and tourism leaders, who expressed strong interest in forming collaborations with the state.

A significant highlight of the pavilion was Perfume Tourism from Kannauj, where live demonstrations of the ancient deg-bhapka technique captivated global visitors. The centuries-old natural fragrance-making craft positioned Kannauj as India’s perfume capital, offering a distinctive and immersive experience for international travellers.

The exhibit also spotlighted ecotourism and heritage tourism, drawing attention to the timeless beauty of the Taj Mahal, the Nawabi architecture of Lucknow, and the forts of Bundelkhand. Uttar Pradesh’s renowned spiritual circuits, including Ayodhya, Mathura-Vrindavan, Prayagraj, Varanasi, and the Buddhist Circuit, further reinforced the state's image as India’s spiritual heartland.

Cultural performances such as Kathak, Kajri, and Dedhiya dances added vibrancy to the pavilion, drawing enthusiastic crowds and leaving lasting impressions. Alongside the cultural showcases, the Uttar Pradesh stall facilitated B2B meetings with leading international travel operators and hoteliers, paving the way for strategic collaborations in heritage, pilgrimage, ecotourism, and luxury travel segments.

Jaiveer Singh, Minister of Tourism & Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh, stated, “At IFTM Top Resa 2025, we showcased this splendour to deepen cultural bonds with Europe.”

The state's participation significantly enhanced its global visibility, with Perfume Tourism emerging as the standout feature. Heritage sites, such as the Taj Mahal and the Buddhist Circuit, also garnered renewed international interest. The event laid the foundation for long-term growth in Uttar Pradesh’s tourism sector, fuelled by its living traditions, year-round festivals such as Dev Deepawali, Taj Mahotsav, and the upcoming Ayodhya Deepotsav, as well as strong international air connectivity via Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Kushinagar.

Uttar Pradesh continues to position itself as a must-visit destination for global travellers in search of authentic, immersive, and culturally rich experiences.
