The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is preparing to stage its most spectacular Deepotsava yet, with celebrations set for October 18–20. This year’s festival will blend the age-old ritual of diya-lighting with state-of-the-art projection mapping, laser shows, fireworks, and live performances, promising visitors an unforgettable experience.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, “Deepotsava 2025 will recreate the joy of Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya through modern technology. The entire city will be illuminated, and over 26 lakh diyas will be lit at the Sarayu ghats in preparation for a Guinness World Record. Visitors from across India and abroad will witness this magnificent celebration. This edition will be grander than all previous celebrations, and efforts are being made on war footing to give visitors and spectators an unforgettable experience.”
A major highlight of this year’s festival is a 45-minute multimedia spectacle that will narrate the story of Lord Ram through projection mapping, laser effects, choreography, fireworks, and synchronised music. Designed to blend tradition with innovation, the show will create a mesmerising visual and auditory experience for audiences gathered at Ram ki Paidi.
Adding to the grandeur, more than 100 live performers will take part in the production. The performance will include new visuals, music, storyboards, and animations, with grand tableaux stretching over 200 metres bringing the Ramayana to life on the waters of the Sarayu.
Every element of Deepotsava 2025 has been curated to create a fully immersive environment — from stage design and costumes to background scores and lighting effects. The city of Ayodhya will glow under the light of more than 26 lakh diyas, setting the stage for what is expected to be a record-breaking illumination.
Deepotsava, which has become one of the most anticipated cultural celebrations in India, continues to evolve as a symbol of faith and festivity. With its unique fusion of devotion, technology, and storytelling, Deepotsava 2025 is poised to offer visitors a truly one-of-a-kind spiritual and cultural experience.
