Darma Whisky
Experience The Himalayas In Every Sip
Himmaleh Spirits, makers of Bandarful, Kumaon & I, and Jin Jiji, unveiled Darma, a premium blended whisky rooted in the Himalayas. Darma blends Indian whisky with select Scottish malts and a subtle bourbon influence to create a rare and refined spirit with a Himalayan soul.
Darma’s label features the snow leopard, a symbol of balance and mystery, framed by the flora and fauna of the Darma Valley that inspired the spirit. The sculpted punt at the base of the bottle echoes the contours of the mighty Himalayas. Bottled at 42.8 per cent ABV, Darma is built for modern whisky cocktails, offering balance and depth that shine in mixed serves, while remaining equally at ease over ice.
Inspired by the remote Darma Valley in Uttarakhand, the whisky carries an aura of quiet mystery, echoing Himalayan folktales where every turn whispers something magical. Defined as much by what it conceals as what it reveals, Darma unfolds in the glass with camouflaged complexity, much like the snow leopard in its natural terrain. It pours a rich gold hue with a subtle amber glow, opening on toasted aromas layered with Madagascan vanilla, hints of coconut and dried fruit. On the palate, the whisky is medium-bodied and smooth, revealing creamy caramel balanced by a gentle trace of spice, before settling into a warm, lingering finish that rewards measured discovery.
Ansh Khanna, Co-Founder, Himmaleh Spirits said, “The whisky market is growing rapidly, and consumers are looking beyond labels; they want authenticity and craftsmanship. With Darma, we saw an opportunity to create a blended whisky that reflects how India is drinking whiskey today. As one of the world’s fastest growing whiskey markets, India is seeing a new generation of drinkers who are curious, informed and looking for quality they can come back to. Darma is our response to that shift; a blended whisky that feels honest, thoughtfully crafted and naturally fits into everyday whisky moments.”
India’s whisky market alone was valued at nearly $19.2 billion in 2024 and is forecast to almost double by 2030, driven by rising disposable incomes and demand for premium spirits.
Samarth Prasad, Co-Founder, Himmaleh Spirits, added “Darma opens a fresh chapter in the Indian whisky story. We wanted a blended whisky with warmth, texture and layered nuance that's still unpretentious and accessible. It’s crafted for everyday enjoyment, whether at home or on holiday, offering premium whisky quality with a relaxed sense of refinement and excellent value for money.”
Darma will be available initially in Uttarakhand at a starting price of Rs 1,580, followed by launches in Goa and Gurugram, with more markets to follow.
