Phillipa Harrison Named as the new CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority

The Government of Ras Al Khaimah has announced the appointment of Phillipa Harrison as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA).

Harrison, who previously served as Managing Director of Tourism Australia, will be responsible for advancing the Emirate’s strategy to position itself as a leading tourism destination. She brings extensive experience in international tourism, with a career spanning multiple global markets.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of RAKTDA’s Executive Committee, said, “Tourism is a key part of Ras Al Khaimah’s economic development strategy and continues to show strong growth. Ms Harrison brings considerable expertise from her tenure at Tourism Australia and other roles, which will support the Emirate’s future plans.”

Commenting on her appointment, Phillipa Harrison said, “I am honoured to take on this role at a time of opportunity for Ras Al Khaimah. The Emirate has made significant progress in the tourism sector, and I look forward to contributing to its continued development.”

The appointment aligns with Ras Al Khaimah’s objectives to strengthen its position as a sustainable tourism destination. The Emirate recorded 650,000 visitors in the first half of 2025 and is working towards a long-term target of more than 3.5 million annual visitors by 2030.
