The Railway Ministry is set to develop software enabling Members of Parliament (MPs) to book reserved train tickets online. The initiative aims to enable current and former Parliamentarians to book and cancel tickets conveniently online.

The announcement was made in the House of Commons on Wednesday, July 24, 2025, during a discussion prompted by Congress MP MK Raghavan, who inquired about plans for a dedicated online railway ticketing portal for MPs from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the software development process has begun, helping MPs manage their travel arrangements more seamlessly by enabling online booking and cancellation.
