Scoot Expands Network with New Routes to Chiang Rai, Okinawa and Haneda

These services will commence progressively between December 2025 and March 2026, offering more options for holidaymakers planning year-end and New Year travel

Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), announced the launch of new flight services to Chiang Rai in Thailand, and Okinawa and Tokyo (Haneda) in Japan. These services will commence progressively between December 2025 and March 2026, offering more options for holidaymakers planning year-end and New Year travel.

Chiang Rai, located in Thailand’s northernmost region, is famed for its mountainous scenery and serene ambience. Rich in Lanna heritage, its population is diverse, with various hill tribes. The province’s multicultural character is reflected in its architecture, cuisine and art. Scoot will operate five weekly flights to Chiang Rai from January 1, 2026, on the Embraer E190-E2.

Okinawa, Japan’s subtropical paradise, is an archipelago renowned for its pristine beaches, clear waters and unique Ryukyuan heritage. With cultural and natural UNESCO World Heritage sites, Okinawa offers a deep dive into Japan’s history and natural beauty. Scoot will also launch services to Tokyo (Haneda), giving travellers a convenient way to access Japan’s bustling capital. Three weekly flights to Okinawa will begin on December 15, 2025, on the Airbus A320 family, while daily flights to Tokyo (Haneda) will start on March 1, 2026, on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. With seamless connections via Singapore, Indian travellers can now explore these destinations with Scoot.

Bookings for the new flights are available today via Scoot’s website, mobile app, and progressively through other channels.

With the launch of services to Chiang Rai, Okinawa and Tokyo (Haneda), Scoot will operate 111 weekly flights to Thailand and 45 weekly flights to Japan. The airline’s network will expand to 76 destinations (including Singapore) across 18 countries and territories in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe.

In addition to the new destinations, Scoot will increase flight frequencies within its network to meet expected demand during the upcoming holiday periods.

In Southeast Asia, flights to Bangkok have risen from 35 to 39 weekly since August 2025. Ipoh will see services increase from 17 to 21 weekly from November 2025. Chiang Mai will likewise see a progressive rise to 14 weekly by December 2025, up from seven weekly.

In North Asia, services to Tokyo (Narita) (via Taipei) will gradually rise to 14 weekly from October 2025, up from 12 weekly. Services to Sapporo (Hokkaido) (via Taipei) will increase from four to seven weekly from December 2025. Correspondingly, services between Singapore and Taipei will grow from 23 to 25 weekly from October 2025 and from 25 to 28 weekly from December 2025. Additionally, flights to Jeju will increase from five to seven weekly from January 2026. In Europe, frequencies to Vienna will rise from three to four weekly from March 2026.
