Saudia Group has once again proven its commitment to operational excellence by topping global rankings for flight punctuality, according to Cirium’s June 2025 report. The airline led the world in both arrival and departure on-time performance, operating over 16,700 flights with a 91.33 per cent on-time arrival rate and a 90.69 per cent departure rate.
Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, stated, “Achieving exceptional on-time performance and maintaining operational excellence requires seamless coordination across all sectors and subsidiaries of the Group. This accomplishment underscores our direct contribution to the objectives of the National Aviation Strategy, particularly in enhancing the overall guest travel experience.”
This achievement marks the second time in 2025 that Saudia has secured the top spot globally, having previously led in March. The milestone is especially significant given the busy travel season, which included the Hajj pilgrimage, Eid Al-Adha holidays, and peak summer travel.
flyadeal, the low-cost carrier under Saudia Group, also performed impressively, ranking first in the Middle East and Africa for on-time arrivals. It recorded a 91.77 per cent rate across more than 5,900 flights.
These successes highlight Saudia’s dedication to efficiency, largely powered by its skilled national workforce and advanced digital systems. The airline uses AI-driven tools to optimise flight planning and deliver predictive alerts, enabling quick responses to any operational challenges.
Looking ahead, Saudia Group is preparing for substantial growth. With plans to add 188 new aircraft to its current fleet of 187, the group’s Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC) in Jeddah—already the largest in the Middle East will play a key role in managing this expansion.
